Achieving significance: reflecting, gaining perspective, discovering uniqueness, developing a framework, and applying a strategy for a meaningful life.

The Personal Leadership Summit (PLS) is a proven discovery process that provides a framework for making decisions that will challenge you to go beyond success and on to significance.

The PLS process will take you through the following steps:

  • Recounting your life story and identifying significant people, events, and circumstances in your life history.
  • Examining the impact these have had on the five domains of your life that you want to try to keep in balance.
  • Understanding how you work and process things.
  • Discovering and/or confirming your talents and gifts.
  • Developing a strategy with specific goals and action steps for movement toward significance in each of the domains of your life.
  • Learning how to manage your life domains strategy.
  • Going through these steps and developing a strategy will help you reach the goal of living a stress-reduced, satisfying, enjoyable, and meaningful life.

Who Should Participate in a PLS?

At various times in life, you come to a point where you need or want to make changes. But what direction should you go? What is your mission? Are you asking . . .

  • Why is the work that I am doing draining me more than it is energizing me?
  • Am I making the right contributions? If so, why am I frustrated?
  • Why is it such a struggle for me to figure out my life mission?
  • I am considering a change—but what should I do?
  • Why am I feeling out of balance and stressed?

This process is inspired and patterned after Tom Paterson's work on ‘LifePlanning’™ and his book, ‘ Living The Life You Were Meant To Live'; Lamont Moon and ‘The 24x7 Leader Process’; and Bob Buford’s Halftime.

Beyond the 2 Day PLS:

Many leaders find that ongoing coaching is essential on the other side of a PLS Process.

A coach can act as a catalyst, guide, adviser, sounding board, and score keeper to keep you on track with your Plan.

A coach provides a unique, external, and supportive view of where you are and where you are going.

The process results in improved personal performance for you, and improved bottom line performance for your organization.
